Themadones Outlaw Motorcycle Club

Themodones MC was established in 1958 and is the oldest Outlaw Motorcycle Club that originates in Minnesota. The name is pronounced "Theme-a-dons" but anagrams to "The Mad Ones". According to their website, the name comes from a character fifties magazine. The club began at Ford dealership that sold Harely Servi-car trikes used to deliver parts. One of the founding members of the club, Carl, managed to trade a 36 Ford for a 1947 Indian. A few buddies bought bikes as well and they were off.

From what's available to find in the public the Themadones MC is listed as an outlaw club in almost every publication including an entry on the Gang Taskforce reports in Minnesota. However, looking at criminal records they just don't have the same 1%er  record as some of the others. The mentions of Themedones criminal activity is fairly sparse.

I had to go all the way back to the 70's to find anything criminal. In 1977 a Themadones member Jeff Hill shot fellow Themadone John Thompson in the back which resulted in Thompson becoming a paraplegic.  A year later the Themadones were sued over the reckless death of a woman who was flung from the back of a Themadones bike and hit by another member that was following behind.

Sure, these are pretty serious charges but they're also 30+ years ago. One case seems like perhaps one bad egg in the crate and the other may have simply been a freak accident. So when comparing that outright disregard for others, the law and human life in general of Themedones to a gang like The Hells Outcasts, it's not close. At least based on what's publicly available, perhaps behind the scene there's more to the Themadones.  It should be noted that I don't see andy 1% diamonds on their gear and they've been used as security at events before. Like it was noted earlier in the article most publications on Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs list Themedones and law enforcement in Minnesota also lists them as a gang.

Hard to tell how many members they have but there have been over 600 members since 1958 and perhaps as many as 40 active memebers at any given time.
